Simulation Design in Communication System Training
Takács, Endre ; Krkoš, Radko (referee) ; Škorpil, Vladislav (advisor)
The aim of this work was to analyze the problematics of modern communication systems focusing on the converged network and their elements and to propose a laboratory work. The theoretical part of the work is extensive. It deals with the network architecture OSI, which forms the basic of modern communication networks. It describes also the active network elements and their characteristics, advantages and disadvantages. The theoretical part deals in a chapter with the neuron networks, which describes the basic artificial neuron of a network, which can be used for the controlling of network elements. These networks are Hopfield network and Kohonen network. The Evolution of the Beauty Ideal Portrayal in the Media for Adolescents since 2005 to the Present
Lůžková, Daniela ; Vochocová, Lenka (advisor) ; Reifová, Irena (referee)
The aim of the thesis is to describe the development of the portrayal of the beauty ideal in the Czech media for teenage audience from 2005 to the present. The theoretical part of the thesis captures the historical transformation of the ideal of beauty and its current meaning for individuals and society, as well as the conclusions of existing studies on the concept of the ideal of beauty in the media, both printed and online. The data source for the analysis were randomly selected copies of magazines for teenagers (Bravo Girl, Dívka, Top Dívky, JJ), as well as YouTube videos and Instagram posts of well-known Czech influencers. Qualitative analysis, specifically grounded theory, is used as a research method. The research showed that in printed media, the concept of the ideal of beauty was narrowly defined and did not allow many exceptions, throughout the whole examined period. Anything outside of this narrow view was framed as a problem to be solved. In new media, the current definition of the standard of beauty has been gradually eroded, among other things, by the body positivity movement. The theme of beauty has diversified, diversity is admitted, and former imperfections are framed as normal manifestations of the human body. The same time, however, the current media content still repeats...

Píšová, Denisa ; Jirák, Jan (advisor) ; Köpplová, Barbara (referee)
The aim of the thesis entitled Media Education through the lens of the professional teaching community is to identify the issues and topics that appear in the discourse on media education in the Czech Republic, especially from the perspective of teachers and experts dealing with this issue. Using theoretical foundations based primarily on the framework curricula and surveys from recent years and content analysis of online discussions under news articles, the state of media education in the Czech Republic will be investigated. These findings will be subsequently verified and questioned through in-depth interviews with stakeholders from the school and educational institutions environment. Thus, two qualitative methods will be used in the analytical part, which will increase the reliability of the research results. A secondary purpose of the research is the possibility of further testing the resulting hypotheses or questions, for example through a questionnaire survey. Thanks to in-depth interviews, it is also possible to gain a broader insight into the issues of contemporary media education, which has been the focus of few studies or surveys in the Czech Republic in recent years. This is also important because of the forthcoming revisions of the Framework Educational Programmes, which should improve...

Stehlíková, Jana ; Klabíková Rábová, Tereza (advisor) ; Šťastná, Lucie (referee)
The thesis deals with the etiquette within social media and social network sites as a part of network media. First section focuses on the phenomenon of etiquette in historical context and deals with associated terms such as courtesy and politeness. Second part deals with documents concerning so called netiquette - network etiquette. Finally the third part focuses on the etiquette within social network sites (SNS). Šimečková, Barbora ; Šoltys, Otakar (advisor) ; Kyjonková, Petra (referee)

Paywalls and the future of journalism
Novotný, Jan ; Čermák, Miloš (advisor) ; Švelch, Jaroslav (referee)
The Master's diploma thesis examines the phenomenon of imposing paywalls on news content. By using qualitative interview research, case studies, theoretical and empirical analysis the thesis emphasizes mainly the differences between individual ways of imposing paywalls and also factors that can influence the process of implementing paywalls. Hypothesis claims that imposing paywalls on existing free content can serve as an incentive on the media market to reach a growing productivity of media enterprises in spite of a booming popularity of sharing free information. It depends whether the right business model is implemented. According to the hypothesis the right model is "metered model" that responds to the nature of the internet and implies that certain amount of content would remain free of charge. Both paid and free content spheres should have to be redefined by new ergonomy and new journalistic content.
